Apprenticeships

We are actively looking for our next annual intake of Apprentices. Each year we take on local youngsters to join our  highly regarded Apprenticeship programme with initial training undertaken within our dedicated training school. The training includes College "day release" and "on the job" tuition under the watchful eye of our Training Centre Manager.

This is a great opportunity to join a renowned and established engineering company and become fully trained whilst being part of a highly successful team.

As part of their Apprenticeship program our current first year apprentices recently took part in a careers event at Long Eaton school to promote Engineering Apprenticeships as a possible career path for school leavers.

This involved an informal question and answer session with students in the sixth form area where we had a display table, this generated a lot of interest from the students.

The apprentices then set up a practical lesson in one of the schools workshops for Year 11 students to take part in, this involved the apprentices instructing the students in the correct assembly of Slack & Parr Pumps following Engineering Drawings and Instruction Sheets. This was a rewarding exercise for the apprentices who developed their communication and leadership skills.
