China Ambassador to the UK visits Slack and Parr

On the 19th of June 2009, Slack & Parr received a visit from the Ambassador to the UK and delegation from the Peoples Republic of China. Her excellency Fu Ying toured the works and offices as part of a visit promoted by the UKTI and CBBC to showcase quality British businesses. Although China is already a major export nation for Slack & Parr, it is hoped that further opportunities for both sales and manufacture can be gained by such high level introductions.

Apprentice Training Success

East Midlands Apprentice Awards 2009

Slack & Parr have once again been very successful at the annual apprentice awards ceremony for the East Midlands region of the UK held at the Nottingham University Conference Centre on 2nd June 2009.

Slack & Parr were voted the overall winner for the medium employer of the year award for companies with 50-249 employees. Also one of the apprentices Liam Urbanati, was voted runner-up in the advanced apprenticeship category.

This is again recognition of the excellent training program in which the company invests, as it continues to develop its young people to ensure that Slack & Parr remain a leader in the world market.
